FRED FOREST

But which are you Fred Forest ?
Fred Forest has a name which counts. This undeniable established fact is at the same time its force and its intimate drama. The most known artist of the virtual worlds by his exposures and his actions is also that which is most wrongfully been sulky by the French press, and criticism. Paradoxically, one reproaches him media blows foils, too relentless in their conceptual effectiveness and their impact. Fred Forest is the first victim of his success.




The mark to the philosophico-artistic standards "FF" explores its time, its spaces and its temporalities subjective since nearly fifty years. Fred FOREST is never tired of his own curiosity. The inventor who was born in 1933 in Oran, with his so recognizable figure, his cranium which scalpe self-conceit, its small well cut beard, its striped pullovers and its sempiternal jackets to defer, is declined in a camaieu of white elegant, atypical, icônoclaste, the smile as a militant banière, the eye with the mounting of least questionnement the sociétal, technique, the ear always with the listening of the misinformation and information systems.

Fred FOREST is a fighter of our imaginations having included/understood well before everyone speaks about it which the machines could if one could listen to them, us transmit all energies of the visible and invisible universes.

Fred FOREST unquestionably forms part of this race of intellectuals - most invaluable that it is given to us to observe - a cosmogony self-educated, intuitive, having known at the good moment to find the force and the will of survival to leave his social condition and to be born with the life, with the mortuary.

One could, of course, enumerate his famous or more perfectly unknown, but not less rich of direction, "actions" in the whole world, to draw from the amusing magma of its files some crusty anecdotes or luminous meetings (...) But all that would give altogether us an idea, too caricatural of what is intrinsically, the Pope of the media or sociological Bateleur .

Because in his crossing of this century flooded by the prism of God Media, Fred FOREST did not spare his efforts. He did not have of cease, until today posing essential problems for his life and his condition of artist and those more general of his congeneric.

Under the pretext and the alibi of Art in all its forms and its deformations, it testified without slackening with a false modest ease which succeeded never in hiding true serious analytical, a real sensory relevance and an unquestionable genius of comprehension of modern mechanics.

It is necessary to discover or rediscover work "IN PROGRESS" of FOREST, to see beyond the a-priori, to shave the beard of our prejudices, to include/understand that a work is registered initially, in the knowledge of its author as a man, with his cracks, its doubts, its audacities, its provocations, its errors, its errances and its most delirious visions.

Fred FOREST was born well before the multi-media one who sacrilized it then locked up in a box with images whose remote control panicked.

The innovative print of Fred FOREST finds his stake principal in tectonics of the artistic cruor, this ideal nebulous state, which one finds, trônant magistralement, in the Pantheon of the imaginative museums.

FOREST OFFERS HIS BODY TO INTERNET!

Exploded body, body as territory, territory of the body and territory of the networks, Fred Forest, with this new action on Internet, ventures into the field and the perspective of the post-biologic body. Not only he proposes a networking of his own physical envelope, which he "cuts up" in all directions, to send it all over the world, but he also gives to the Internet users a possibility of appropriation of this raw material. He gives, to this one, after its "scattering" and its global cartographic waste, the chance to be "reconstituting", in a place and at a given time, if ever a collective will manifests itself in this way among the basic Internet user's. The territory of the body overlaps, here, the territory of the network, to become finally confused with it. As we occupy a territory by putting up, on such and such part, its flag, the Internet users stick the derisory symbols of their playful power into a skin made of pixels.


Without worrying, for all that, about the sensibility at distance that the real body can demonstrate which is used as referent... In the infringement, Forest go even farther, when he agrees, with a joyful cynicism, to the shameless "marchandisation" of his own pixelized flesh, showing so, if needed, that in our society the economy takes precedence over all other values. This flesh is proposed in the stall of the electronic shops as a CD, as some fresh meat on markets.

Ultimate progress, we can even get it at distance, by paying the purchases with a credit card. But in any well organized society, between the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak men, there are subtle differences in the nature of the offered products, between those who can buy them at any price, and those, on the contrary, to whom we are well forced to offer them, by pure Christian charity or as compensation of our culpability.

Forest thought of everything in the critical stage setting of his electronic device, showing well that our world works well, still, as that of yesterday. For the most optimistic, it?s enough to hope that with Internet or not, things can change one day?
Fred Forest's body was cut in various fragments and, just like what is practized in the cyberspace today, every piece of meat, such a Web site, can be shared, bought or rented.


Certain fragments of the body of the artist will be GPL* and accessible by all, others will be paying (for the private individual or for the company, purchased or rented). Blast-Machine brings to this original company of the artist, its technical know-how and its creativity, opening a royal way to new markets of the virtual and of the immaterial body.

Developed by http://theblastmachine.com, unit of research and development of the company Blast Interaction (http://www.blast-interaction.fr), the site works thanks to the plugin Shockwave. An on-line payment system by credit card is foreseen that will allow to operate all the deals inherent to the retail trade.
Fred Forest's body was digitized, then virtually cut, to be inserted into a system of data base, managing the slightest part of his body as an element of information.
This action will develop in time, beyond the Fête de l?Internet, proposing every month, until 2050, new on-line services, which will be revealed according to their application.
